Although winter is almost ending, it’s still cold outside, so you need to be prepared and warm to stay healthy. Here are some tips to make these days easier for you, your family and your home:
– Run your ceiling fan on low and spin it clockwise to help warm air trapped in the ceiling go back down to the floor level.
– Install thick curtains to help keep the heat in. If you don’t change the look of your curtains, place bubble wrap on the windows to isolate the heat.
– Open your curtains when the sun is out, this will help your home stay warmer even when the outside temperature is low.
– If you use your oven to cook, leave the door open when you finish to take as much advantage of the heat as possible.
– You can use a hot water bottle to warm your bed before you get in it, just remember to remove it before you do!
– Turn your thermostat down a couple degrees; if your house is isolated, you will not notice and the energy cost will be lower. Similarly, leave your water heater with just the pilot on when you’re not using it.
These little changes and adjustments are really easy to realize, and it will help you big time to keep your home and your family warm and cozy.
